FEBRUARY MID-TERM ART CAMP @ Nairobi Art Centre

Wonder how to keep your children occupied this school holidays? Come engage your kids in our half term   art  camp activities such as drawing, painting,  3D making from recycled  materials ,clay sculpture, collage, canvas painting  etc designed for children  3 to 11yrs and teens age 12 to 16 years old.

Children will learn to draw & paint using different art mediums and through the understanding of shape, size, proportion, colour scheme, more art techniques and materials provided. Children will acquire higher artistic confidence, broaden general knowledge and enhance creativity through our art creativity and drawing demonstration of the various subjects.

For the beginner who has not had any previous experience painting or an intermediate artist in the process of improving techniques.Explore drawing & painting in a friendly and encouraging environment. Individual attention.Step by step guidance will quickly help you develop skills and confidence using a variety of art materials such as pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylic paint and mixed media.All materials supplied.Best for the student who cannot commit to a regular schedule.

Take your artistic skills to a new level with our all new 4 week intensive drawing and painting course. It will take four months to complete the whole program but can be taken 4 weeks at a time.  Work with a variety of subjects including the figure, natural objects and printed imagery. You will learn about sketching, drawing and painting.  We will challenge you to rethinking the use of colour and mark making.  You will learn about light, shadow and perspective.  You will also learn to work with watercolours, pastels, charcoal and acrylics. As you progress, you will have the opportunity to work individually with your tutor to devise your own project. Must be able to commit to one day a week for four weeks.

Junior Art @ Nairobi Art Centre
Feb 24 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

This programme offers more challenging drawing techniques and more room for imagination that will sharpen visual skills of children and enhance their artistic confidence. Older kids enjoy details, complexity and realism in their artwork. Children will learn to draw through discerning shapes, sizes, space, distance and proportion. They will be taught the colour theory, colour scheme, light / shadow, blending / shading techniques, brush drawing, monochromatic painting, pointillism etc. Students will be introduced to a wide range of painting media: pastels, water-colour, ready-mix paint, acrylic, ink, pencils and different painting surfaces. They will learn the application of these mediums on different bases to create artworks of distinct effects.

Suitable for children age 7 years, 8 – 10 years, & 11 – 12 years respectively.
