Pottery Class @ Nairobi Art Centre

There is something very soothing and therapeutic working with clay.  Give it a try!  Work with clay and have a go on a potter’s wheel.  Learn how to make objects, pots, cups, vases etc.  Instructor utilizes various techniques such as coiling, pinching, slabbing, and throwing on the wheel. Firing objects in the kiln are completed after class – keep in mind, it takes up to two weeks to be fully dry and ready for painting.  Don’t forget to ask about our special Pottery  course  on Wednesday mornings.

Toddler Art Classes for age 1 to 3yrs

Our entertaining, engaging and fun art class for toddlers introduces children to the joy of art, creativity and self-expression while exposing children to the developmental benefits that art offers. In our toddler art class, artists will explore a wide variety of art materials such as paint, paper, collage, and crafts while enjoying their entertaining expressive art activities, hands-on art projects, singing, story time and more!

This special parent/child class is a highly recommended for Toddler Art Class. Toddler class develop their sensory skills as well as fine and gross motor skills. It develops:

  • Fine and gross motor skills
  • Language
  • Social skills
  • The ability to experiment while having FUN!

POTTERY COURSE @ Nairobi Art Centre

Two Months Pottery course discover the rich world of clay. Learn all about coil-building, slab-rolling, textures and tools in this class for beginners and those with very little experience,  this course is aimed at committed people who wish to develop in-depth skills for a professional approach to clay. The programme will cover fundamental and advanced throwing and trimming skills, material and firing technology and visual awareness. Students will stay and study in the supportive environment.

Art Course – March Intake on-going @ Nairobi Art Centre

Take your artistic skills to a new level with our all new 4 week intensive drawing and painting course. It will take four months to complete the whole program but can be taken 4 weeks at a time.  Work with a variety of subjects including the figure, natural objects and printed images. You will learn about sketching, drawing and painting.  We will challenge you to rethinking the use of colour and mark making.  You will learn about light, shadow and perspective.  You will also learn to work with watercolours, pastels, charcoal and acrylics. As you progress, you will have the opportunity to work individually with your tutor to devise your own project. Must be able to commit to one day a week for four weeks.
